Hello Families,
Thank you so much for all the gum you sent in to help us complete our experiment. I know it often requires an extra sacrifice, and I appreciate your generosity. And the students were grateful to complete the gum experiment.
Students read a letter from a man interested in buying an established gum company. We discussed the information in the letter, what the problem was, and we discussed how we would solve the problem. We have pretty much finished up with the experiment portion and now we will be analyzing our data, comparing our data, and writing a conclusion for our experiment.
We also completed an experiment to discover who stole Sparky. Students collected data and analyzed different pens to determine which pen was used to write the ransom note.
We complete science trivia every day, and it has been exciting to hear the discussion among students as they justify/defend/explain their answers. Your children are bright, articulate, clever, and quick witted. Our year has gotten off to a great start!
The Instagrams turned out GREAT! I appreciate those of you that contacted me with questions concerning this assignment. I posted the expectations and documents on my weebly, last Monday, August 25. The paperclips are supposed to be clicked on in order to view the document. We also discussed the expectations for this assignment every day in class. My weebly:

You can also send in a note with your child or write a question on your child's agenda.
Best regards,
Ruth Biggs
